The MELT Method®, by Sue Hitzmann, is a simple self treatment technique that provides a revolutionary approach to pain-free living. Through a carefully coordinated series of movements and the use of specially designed balls and a soft roller, the MELT Method rehydrates the connective tissue (also known as fascia), rebalances the nervous system, and restores space to compressed joints.
MY EXPERIENCE
In the fall of 2013, I was violently mugged waiting for the bus near Central Park. The injuries to my neck and hip and the resulting hip surgery led to compensation injuries and pain patterns in my body. I spent over a year shuttling between physical therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, and orthopedists trying to heal and get back to work. I was in the worst pain of my life and it was not relieved by working with some of the top specialists in NYC. It wasn't until I was introduced to Sue Hitzmann, creator of MELT Method®, that my chronic pain began to resolve. After six months of using the MELT Method at home and in classes, I was able to move with more ease than I had even prior to the attack. Without MELT, I would never have been able to return to an active life and a career in fitness. I owe my health, my comfort, and my career to the MELT Method.
My passion for MELT, and my gratitude for the healing I experienced, inspired me to pursue MELT Method Trainings—including MELT Hand & Foot, New Science, MELT Length Level I and II, and most recently MELT Neurostrength. Having the rare opportunity to work one-on-one with Sue Hitzman has been such a gift and feels a lot like going back to grad school! :)
I plan to continue my education and help bring the healing benefits of MELT to as many people as possible!

FAQs
Who is Melt for?
Whether you're sitting at a desk, dancing on Broadway or bending over to pick up your kids, the repetitive stress of daily living (including physical, mental, emotional and environmental stressors) can create "stuck stress" in the connective tissue. This tissue, also known as fascia, surrounds every joint, muscle, nerve, bone, and organ in the body. Natural wear and tear causes dehydration in the connective tissue, which interferes with the nervous system’s ability to regulate itself and slows down the body’s innate healing process.
MELT is for anyone who wants reduce the negative effects of the aging process and live a pain-free life. Younger adults, dancers, and athletes use MELT to maintain fit, healthy bodies and achieve optimal performance without experiencing debilitating wear and tear. For those in their 50s, 60s, and beyond, MELT can help you maintain an active, mobile, and independent lifestyle.
If you are pregnant, injured, post-surgery, overweight, sedentary, out of shape, have limited mobility, chronic pain, knee/hip replacements, or bone disorders — you can still MELT.
How was Melt created?
The Melt Method evolved from techniques created by renowned manual therapist Sue Hitzmann. She wanted her clients to be able to experience a simulation of her body work at home. As a result, she came up with a series of movements using balls and a soft rollers which profoundly improved her clients' health and healing time and empowered them to identify issues as they came up and take better care of themselves.
In its initial stages, MELT was an acronym for Myofascial Energetic Length Technique. In the past 12 years, Sue Hitzmann has evolved the technique so much that it has outgrown the acronym and is now referred to as The MELT Method®.
